Marlow and the Monster - book review

Marlow and the Monster
by Sharon Cramer

When I saw the information on this book I thought it would be like Monsters Inc where a child is terrified of the monster under their bed but they learn to overcome that fear. I was wrong. Marlow and the Monster is about a boy who has a monster in his room who just won't leave. Marlow trys to tells his parents but his parents are fed up with his stories about a monster that isn't there. This monster is just plan annoying Marlow so he decides to pawn it off on someone else. The idea behind this book is a good one but I wasn't happy with how it turned out. Without an introduction I felt like you were just thrown in to the story so I didn't understand how Marlow was feeling or what was going on. Seeing as this isn't published yet I hope that Cramer can smooth out the rough edges and make it the great book I know it can be.

  1. Wow, you claim to be a photographer and miss the incredible black/white and color contrast in this work… sad. It's a galley already. One and a half stars, Really?
