One of the prompts that came up in our writing group was to bullet your whole day. A lot of people's days vary a little here and there but mine really don't. I really only have two different types of (week)days so I am going to walk you through both.
A day where I do not have children to watch:
- Wake up at 7am
- Make breakfast for Haleigh and give it to her
- Make lunch for Tyrone and drink and snack for Haleigh (unless it's Friday then I make her lunch too)
- Haleigh comes in and I remind her of what she needs to do to finish getting ready (then she tells me she knows. However, I am her mom so I have the right to tell her over and over and over - for forever)
- Fix Haleigh's hair and start Tyrone's coffee
- Say goodbye to Tyrone and Haleigh and make my own coffee
- Take meds
- Either go back to sleep until 10 or stay up
- Coffee and News
- Call Mom and Grama
- Breakfast
- Read or catch up on shows
- Dishes
- Take out food for Dinner
- Talk to Tyrone on his lunch break
- Get Haleigh's snack and drink ready
- Get Haleigh off the bus
- Haleigh has alone time so I go back to reading or cleaning or watching tv
- Tyrone comes home and I start getting dinner ready
- Cook dinner
- Watch TV together and talk
- Get Haleigh ready for bed
- Put Haleigh to bed
- Put me to bed
- Fight sleep forever then finally fall asleep
A day where I do have children to watch:
- Wake up at 6am
- (Maybe get kids now)
- Make breakfast for Haleigh and give it to her
- Make lunch for Tyrone and drink and snack for Haleigh (unless it's Friday then I make her lunch too)
- Haleigh comes in and I remind her of what she needs to do to finish getting ready (then she tells me she knows. However, I am her mom so I have the right to tell her over and over and over - for forever)
- Fix Haleigh's hair and start Tyrone's coffee
- Say goodbye to Tyrone and Haleigh and make my own coffee
- Take meds
- Coffee, news, and breakfast
- Kids come and I set them up with breakfast or a show to watch until they're ready to play
- Free play
- Call Mom and Grama quick while they are playing by themselves
- Take out food for dinner
- The rest of the morning and early afternoon is a mixture of feeding, changing, and sneaking in learning activities while playing toys with kids.
- Lunch then 'lax' time - this just means quiet time but most kids go to sleep during it
- Get kids up, give them a snack and drink
- Talk to Tyrone on his lunch break
- Change diapers put on socks, shoes and coats
- Fix Haleigh her snack and drink (her drink has medication in it or she could just get it herself)
- Wrangle children to go get Haleigh off the bus
- More play time, snacks, and changing of diapers
- Movie time!
- Oh NO Nicole you forgot to eat.. quick eat something! (this happens more often than not)
- Get kids ready (about 3/4ths of the way through the movie) to go home, pack up bags, rinse out cups, collect toys
- Time to sing "Clean up, Clean up, Everybody Everywhere" while children run around like crazies cleaning up toys
- Kids go home
- Tyrone comes home and I start getting dinner ready
- Cook dinner
- Watch TV together and talk
- Get Haleigh ready for bed
- Put Haleigh to bed
- Put me to bed
- Fight sleep forever then finally fall asleep
Looks about right. What do your days normally look like? Do you have a 'regular' day like me or do your days differ a lot?
